Association for Microorganisms in Animal Environment – Europe
The Association that strives for optimal animal hygiene and health by using good microorganisms
Our scope
The scope of our cooperation (AMAEE) focuses on the positioning of microbial products used in animal surroundings for the below applications (non-exhaustive): the management of slurry/manure, the maintenance of the quality of beddings, the installation of positive biofilms on husbandry buildings/surfaces and/or animals, microbial detergents used in livestock setting, and the maintenance of water quality in aquaculture systems as well as ornamental ponds.
To date, no specific regulatory framework pertaining to microbial products used in the surroundings of animals, other than feed products, biocidal products, detergents and/or veterinary medicinal products, exists at EU level. In the absence of a dedicated legislative framework to regulate the use of these products AMAEE seeks to advance both regulatory and non-regulatory paths to ensure proper, safe and transparent use of these products on the EU market.
